Why Choose Chiropractic?2018-08-14T14:41:23+00:00

The specialization of Atlanta Health and Chiropractic is chiropractic care, but we also treat sports injuries, assist with rehabilitation, and perform physical therapy. Chiropractic is a non-invasive, and all-natural healthcare approach that looks at a person’s well-being in terms of their entire body rather than just the area where symptoms manifest. Your nervous system controls and coordinates all of the cells, tissues and muscles in your body. It is centered in your spinal cord, and misalignments in the spine can affect the body’s performance, greatly reducing your quality of life and potentially causing numerous health issues.

Whole Body Health

Whole body health at Atlanta Health and ChiropracticOur focus is to diagnose and correct these misalignments and dysfunctional muscles that aren’t working properly to get you back to the activities and sports you love. We can adjust your spine and other extremities to restore proper function. Chiropractic works to actively correct these issues by conducting complete and thorough analysis and adjustments of the spine and extremities to restore the incredible natural healing abilities of the human body.

While most chiropractic methods provide effective temporary relief, our chiropractic correction has lifelong benefits that include correcting underlying major causes of ailments while simultaneously addressing minor surface problems.

At AHC, we like to think of the doctor/patient relationship as a partnership. We know that everyone is different, and it takes communication between both parties to achieve individualized goals. We are committed to having an open dialogue about which kind of care (relief, corrective, or maintenance) is best for you to accomplish the collective goal. We are passionate about educating patients so that they can take control of their health with tailored exercises, ergonomics, and lifestyle choices, so we offer a variety of other services in addition to chiropractic, including massage, sports injury treatment and rehab, and physical therapy.

How the Model Works

Chiropractic care works to identify and treat the underlying causes of healthcare concerns and to correct them at the source. It targets these base conditions rather than focusing on the symptoms they cause. Just as a doctor wouldn’t treat a heart attack through addressing numbness in the arm, a chiropractor shouldn’t target a nervous system disorder by easing pain solely in the leg.

For example, when a person suffers trauma to the bones at the base of their neck, say from a slip and fall, an auto accident or a sports injury, it can result in posture change, which can, in turn, cause the ribcage to shift along with spinal and pelvic muscle groups. The result over time is that pressure on the discs in the back wear down and cause major trauma to the nerves. Dr. Good will treat the posture change in the upper neck while also addressing the resulting pain in the pelvis.

Here at Atlanta Health and Chiropractic, we offer three different phases of chiropractic care:

01

Relief Care

Most people discover chiropractic because they are in pain. The goal of relief care is to minimize this pain. Sometimes this is achieved in 1 or 2 office visits, and sometimes it takes several weeks, depending on the injury and the level of pain.

02

Corrective Care

This describes the phase in care after your initial pain symptoms are gone but residual misalignments remain. In this phase, we focus on objective findings that we discovered upon our initial biomechanical evaluation (i.e. hip or ankle range of motion). We will look at functionality of certain muscle groups to determine your progress throughout the corrective care phase.

03

Maintenance Care

Once your body is healed, routine chiropractic adjustments will help maintain your optimal condition and alignment. If you want to keep fit after losing weight, you would continue to exercise to keep in shape, and chiropractic care works in the same way to maintain optimal health.
